Noah Eva: Due Date

12th September 2020. Today is the expected due date of this beautiful miracle baby. Born at 28 weeks (12 weeks prematurely) she has fought hard for her life and we couldn’t be more proud and amazed by her. She is an absolute beauty.

Today has kicked up a lot of emotions. It’s hard to put into words exactly what it feels like, but I’ll give it a go.

I am both full of happiness as we celebrate her triumph, but also once again grieved by all that she has had to go through.

I am both amazed and proud of all that she has achieved, whilst anxious that this isn’t the end of the obstacles she will have to overcome.

I am in wonder at how much she has grown and how strong she is, while also broken-hearted that she is still smaller and having to work harder than other babies her age.

But, despite this mix of emotions, I am determined to make this a day of celebration rather than mourning.

Today we celebrate you Noah. In your short little life you have been through so much and yet you have taken each day in your stride. You are able to get your hand to your mouth for comfort, your cues for when you are hungry, uncomfortable or unhappy are becoming much stronger, you are able to hold eye contact for brief periods of time, you are starting to “chat” with us, gurgling away as we talk to you, you love cuddles and head massages, and you have begun to hold your own hands together. And we are starting to get glimpses of your beautiful smile!

You now weigh an amazing 5lb 12, over 3lb more than when you were born. We are so proud of you.

♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thank you to all our friends far & wide who have prayed for this amazing little girl. We are forever grateful ♥️♥️♥️♥️

P.s. for anyone wondering about the banner choice – it’s ‘happy birth day’ (as in the day you were expected to be born). Plus there were no such thing as ‘due date’ banners… 😂
