Noah is now 12 weeks old (1 week corrected age).
This week she finally finished her course of antibiotics – no more daily trips to the hospital!
Unfortunately the antibiotics were incredibly strong and have eradicated not only the infection, but also the healthy bacteria in her gut. This has caused her tummy to be incredibly uncomfortable along with causing pretty painful diarrhoea and reflux.
This also means she is struggling to sleep on her back and mummy and daddy take it in turns to sit up and hold her at night between feeds. We are having to take 2-hourly shifts and are all getting very little sleep but we’re trying to stay positive and are making the most of the cuddles – we know this won’t last forever!
This week, Noah celebrated mummy’s birthday and looked gorgeous in her party dress. She is also beginning to grip things like her blankets, our clothes, mummy’s hair. What a beauty.
As I know many of you are still praying for Noah, some prayer points for this week:
1. Noah has another hearing test as she was on a very powerful antibiotic. Please pray that she has no long lasting effects and that her hearing test will be successful.
2. Noah is very uncomfortable in her tummy because of the absence of good bacteria. Please pray that the good bacteria are restored quickly and she feels better very soon.
3. Noah has another set of vaccinations Friday. Please pray that she isn’t too upset by them (and that mummy isn’t either!)
4. Noah has a bit of a cold at the moment. It’s just a stuffy nose but it makes breathing and feeding more challenging. Please pray that it clears up soon and that she is returned to full health.
