1 month corrected age

12 OCT 20 (15 weeks, 5 days old)

Today Noah is officially 1 month corrected age! She’s growing rapidly, becoming a lot more alert and interactive and continuing to melt our hearts.

Night times are still a challenge – some nights she sleeps well and in her own bed, whereas other nights she still refuses to go into her Moses basket at all.

Poo has been our biggest topic of conversation this week, with Noah going for up to 7 days at a time without a bowel movement. This can lead to some pretty uncomfortable days leading up to the big event!

The first weeks at home with a new baby are tough – they can be incredibly emotional, especially because you are giving and giving to this little baby without any feedback on how you’re doing. And we question everything – Am I doing this right? Did I make a mistake having this baby? What on earth made me think I could do this? Does she even like me?

J and I now affectionately refer to this stage as “the potato phase” – because it’s like taking care of a really needy, really fussy potato. But we are finally starting to emerge out the other side as we see her little personality grow.

Noah is holding eye contact really well this week, beginning to ‘talk’ to us as she practices her vowel sounds, and we are getting the odd glimpse of some proper smiles!!
