8 Months Old

8 months old and you’re a chatterbox ✅ having a right old chat with another family at the hospital👩‍👧‍👦Whatever you had to say was clearly of great importance to you💯and you love to throw in a few raspberries for good measure 😚 she now weighs 6.2kg and measures 63.4cm tall.

This month has been fun, with lots of developments – our favourite stage so far 🥰 When we first brought Noah home from the hospital at 5lb, she was far too small to go in a baby carrier. This month finally reached the stage where she can face outwards and take in her surroundings! We try to take her out for a stroll a few times a week. She absolutely loves the carrier and so do I! I think this is the start of many adventures together ☀️

Noah is now giggling at things other than mummy and daddy. She’s becoming a lot more tactile, playing with toys 🧸 and turning the pages of her books 📚 (she loves to sit for story time) and has discovered a new game of dropping things and watching mummy and daddy pick them up 👀

She loves shaking anything that makes a noise (especially her “Christmas” bells🔔) and my new favourite thing is when she reaches for your face and puts her hands on your cheeks 😊 (although if she starts to dig her nails in she can definitely do some damage)

She recognises her name (and finds it funny too) and she’s sitting up by herself for much longer at a time now 💪 (even if she is still a bit wobbly – we’ve had a few face plants! 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Noah started solids🌽🥦🍆this month and is getting better at actually getting the food into her mouth (and keeping it in). We are doing a mixture of baby led and purées🥣 – she can get quite frustrated if it’s not coming quick enough🙄!!

She loves taking her dummy out and sometimes manages to get it back in, even if it takes a fair few attempts first. She’s much more alert and loves our daily walks, looking at the world around her – especially the doggies 🐕🐩🐶

She’s holding her bottle 🍼 (although she can’t quite take the weight herself so we have to help her) and she’s even taking sips of water out of her big girl cup 🥛

She’s still having problems with pooping 💩 but since mummy has now cut out dairy, soy and eggs 🥛🥚🍫🧀🍦🍪 she is doing better – we are currently waiting to see if this, along with some laxatives, will get things moving before the decision is made about surgery 😷. Please pray that she’s healed in Jesus name and that we’ve seen the end of operating theatres – I think we’ve seen enough to last a lifetime!
