👩🏼⚕️HOSPITAL VISITS🚑
We have very poorly baby this week. A high temperature. A rash all over. Coughing. Breathing difficulties. 3 trips to hospital. 1 ambulance called. And very little sleep for all of us. Last night was our toughest night in a long time, with her waking every 45 minutes or so.
Noah has a pretty horrible UTI. She is on antibiotics and is waiting for an ultrasound to check there’s nothing more serious going on. If you’re the praying kind, please pray for her to feel better soon. She’s an absolute champion and is still doing her best to give us smiles and giggles, but it’s hard to watch her struggling and in pain.
We were warned that premature babies can have several trips to the hospital in their first year, but we still weren’t prepared for the heartache and the memories it brings back every time.
That’s the thing with trauma isn’t it? You can think you’re done, recovered, ‘over it’, and then something happens and you are transported right back there, right back to how you felt then. It can feel like you haven’t made any progress at all, that you’re week and will never be free from this.
But that’s a lie.
Just because you have days where you struggle, doesn’t mean you aren’t victorious.
- You are stronger because you survived.
- You are wiser, with greater perspective because of the journey you walked through.
- You are more whole now, even if you feel more broken, because of how far you’ve come.
Never be afraid to reach out for help, at any time. With the right support, and with time, the scars will fade.
